Every summer, two volunteer-run concert series quietly take over the social calendar in Palos Verdes Estates. From the outside they look interchangeable. Blankets on grass, a bandstand, neighbors with picnic baskets. Live music, free admission, small children underfoot. If you have lived on The Hill for more than a season, you already know they are not the same event.
The Malaga Cove Wednesdays and the Lunada Bay Sundays run on opposite clocks, draw slightly different crowds, and reward completely different kinds of planning. Treated as one calendar, they crowd each other out. Treated as two, they anchor an entire summer.
